The Groundskeeper of the St Elizabeth Cemetery.

On the day of May 7th of 1976, at the Green View Cemetery located in the village of Rosalind, Alberta. The Groundskeeper pulled up to the gates in his old GMC pickup truck and as he unlocked the gates to start his day of mowing ensuring it’s residents that they’re final place of rest west clean of trash. He started going through his list and began his job that morning. Though that morning wasn’t like any other he’d experience before or after. Cause, that day he was going to stumble across an anomaly.

While examining the grounds and tending to his duties one always sees some wildlife may it be a Prairie dog or Crow calling out to others. But on this day all was quiet, not a single bird in the sky or insect to be seen. Something felt off and it was something that couldn’t be explained.

But he couldn’t wait around and had a job to do. So as he unloaded the lawnmower and began to spruce up the place. He was overcome by the strange sense of being watched by someone, though it was too early in the morning and people don’t usually arrive at a cemetery that early, especially in a small community like that of Rosalind. He started working as he could smell a foul odour wafting through the air. Thinking that perhaps maybe there was a dead animal nearby, he stopped what he was doing, and began investigating the source. Soon, he reached the old iron fence and scanned the area only to find what he described as a large Deer behind the trees.

The two locked eye’s as resting in front of the creature was the mutilated body of a dog with its internal organs now external. Wet blood stained its hair and this is something you don’t see every day. Now, it has been recorded that Deer when desperate will turn to eat meat if only the odds of finding food are extremely low. Is this the reason why this had happened? Who’s to say.

As moments passed the Grounds Keeper was taken aback when the Deer rose up revealing it’s human like body. It let out a terrifying hiss like a Deer would if staring at someone or something that poses a threat. Without even blinking it picked up the corpse of the dog and without a moment to spare it turned around and bolted from the scene. This is the first account of witnessing the Deerman feasting. Let’s just hope that one day I’m not reporting a missing person who may be a victim of this foul smelling creature.

The Ferry Point Valley Sighting.

Who doesn’t love a nice and relaxing Sunday afternoon at the cusp of fall? Harvest season, the season of gathering all that has been sowed. But sometimes the wildlife also gathers what they need to survive. This too can be said of the Deerman, who had been seen throughout the area, and this time around it was spotted by a Father and Daughter who were spending some time together fishing. Now, the fish don’t really bite that much in the area but it’s a place where one can unwind and forget the worries of everyday life.

Though this sighting was somewhat of a strange one, as it was reported that the Deerman was drinking, and how it drank was just what you’d expected. But before I dive into it, the Father and Daughter were on the other side of the body of water. As they were fishing they spotted some strange movement coming from the other side.

It drew the attention of the Daughter who pointed it out to her Father, thinking it may have just been another fisherman or perhaps someone just going for a walk. It was until they noticed something wasn’t right and witnessed the elusive Deerman, they described it has had the lower half of a man and the upper being that of a Deer. It was on its hands and knees and drinking water as if it was going out of style. The type of drinking that was described as an athlete after scoring a goal.

As they watched in amazement the Deerman quickly bolted it’s head and scanned the area, it sensed them, and they knew it. Its mannerisms were like that of a wild Deer. Slowly it stood up and let out a snort. Not knowing what to do the Father and Daughter just stood there and watched in amazement. Then just as quickly as it appeared it bolted away. They didn’t know what they had just seen but they knew it wasn’t normal. Its mannerisms are like that of a wild man crossed with the

Sightings in the area roughly around are on the rise and though in the beginning they’ve been isolated to just a certain spot here or there. But now, it’s almost as if this unknown species is beginning to make its rounds in Central Alberta. Is this our variation of Bigfoot perhaps? I can’t say for sure but if more sightings like this and those that I’m reporting on keep going, it may be time to seek protection rights for them.

Range Road 174 at Night.

Rosalind is a small community located in central Alberta and it is home to the mysterious Deerman. Every Province or State depending on where you are in the world. Have many rural roads that will take you from point A to point B. But sometimes, these roads take you down a dark path of utter insanity. Many videos and articles and even podcasts discuss the oddities that are found once traveling down these roads in that lead you into the depths of the less likely traveled path.

Stories of inbreed hillbillies come to the minds of many or those who believe they’ve seen Bigfoot while traveling down logging roads. The same can be said of El Chupacabra while wandering the dead roads of the Southern United States. These once traveled roads are slowly being swallowed back up by Mother Nature and the once fearful wildlife who avoided these trails not wanting to be near us humans.

But this is what my investigation is all about. It’s about taking all the information that I can get my hands on and share it with you, the trusty reader and come up with your own conclusions.

This article dives into the sighting that happened on “October 28th, 1987”. The air was crisp as winter was right around the corner. The Halloween decorations were up and some of the kids in the area thought it would be great if they went wandering through the empty fields. They walked around the many of the areas and crossed many of the uninhabited roads due to the time of day they were crossing them at. Even today these roads that dart across the landscape are pretty tame at night. Sure you’ll see the odd semi or farmer drive about the area or maybe even the odd cop. But at this time of year and at night everything was dead quiet.

It was said that they decided to carry on while they were bored and looking to pass the time. That’s when one revealed that they stole some cigarettes from their parents. As they stood in the harvested field, they all were quiet and lite their smokes.

That’s when the silence was broken by the sound of someone running in the distance. Thinking it was the farmer whose field they were trespassing in they quickly put out their lights and stood silently hoping not to be discovered. Though, afterward, they would’ve wanted it to be the farmer. It sounded as if it saw them in the pitch blackness and changed direction, heading towards them in ran right past them and quickly cut across Range Road 174. Just as it did, a farmer driving an old late seventies Ford pickup truck had to swerve to miss colliding with the Deerman.

For a split second, they saw the outline of the Deerman running through the darkness heading towards God only knows what location. Those who’ve witnessed the events in this article that might still remember it to this day. Though, those teens have long since left town the second they graduated.

Though I’ve traveled down that road myself to walk down it at night and during the day. I will admit that there have been times that I’ve felt someone or something watching my every move. Is it the Deerman of Central Alberta or is it just overactive imaginations running amok, you be the judge. But I will say this though. That one reporting is misleading, while two are coincidental, and more than that it becomes a reacquiring
phenomenon.

Deerman Spotted Off Highway 609.

An aerial map of the Village that is Rosalind. You can see where Highway 609 comes into play and where Highway 854 crosses over. Township Rd 442 takes over while driving through the Village.

If you’re not familiar with Highway 609, it runs for forty-two kilometers in length or twenty-six miles for those who use the Imperial system. It’s running right under the Village of Rosalind. It’s mainly used by Truckers transporting the harvest or those traveling through the countryside. It’s honestly a very lonely road, nestled between farmers fields, with crops stretching as far as the eye can see. Speckled through the landscape you’ll see the odd farmhouse occupied by hard-working families, though there are some that are nothing but empty shells.

Those who dare to enter will see a world long since forgotten. If those abandoned homesteads could only talk I wonder what they’d say? Though that isn’t important for this article, I just always loved old markers that once held love and life.

This sighting of the Deerman place in the spring of 1987 during the beginning week of June. The weather was warm and smelled like new life was in blossom from the fields where wheat was growing. An old man by the name of J. Roberts, who drove Semi for a company located outside of Edmonton. J. Roberts was transporting his cargo after a long haul through most of the province and in the distance he reported seeing someone or something dart across the highway. Quickly he slammed on the brakes in an attempt not to hurt whatever it was.

While the truck slowed to a halt, he investigated the area and found that he was alone. At first, he thought maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him. But as the dust settled and he calmed down, he turned to his right and saw what could only be described as a man from the stomach down. The rest he said was a mishmash of human qualities crossed with a Deer. He described the head as looking almost exactly like a Buck’s. He went on to describe its eyes as being almost lifeless, like that of a dolls eyes or those of a Great White. He felt a sickening feeling wash over him as if he wasn’t supposed to see the identity of this strange creature.

He recalled that he quickly drove off not wanting anything else to do with it. Since this encounter, he’s always kept his eye’s out for it and so he began documenting his experiences with it. Though, that was the first and only time he laid witness to the Deerman.

Just what is this mix of human and animal? Where did it come from? And is it of this Earth? This is not just an isolated incident of the only oddity within the world around us. From Bigfoot to the Lochness Monster and even to the Mothman. We are hearing reports of creatures that the evolution books tell us that shouldn’t be real. Is this the new era of mutant creatures coming out of the woodwork? Perhaps, all the GMO’s and chemicals we use and flush into the environment once we’re done with them helped give a hand in their existence? It wouldn’t be the first time to be honest with you if you don’t believe me look up “The Squid of Plant 9” the text is linked for your convenience.

Maybe it’s the effect of our interference with nature? If so, if that’s the case then are their more? When there’s one there’s usually a group of them to breed. I’m not sure, but I intend to find out and take you along for the ride.

If you’ve witnessed the Deerman of Central Alberta or know someone who has, I’d love to hear from you. Please email me at thedeermanofcentralalberta@gmail.com or message me on Twitter.

Deerman Sighting at the Camp Ground.

The Rosalind Campground is located on “2 Avenue”, rests in a large open field for those who wish to rough it like they did while traveling the countryside. Now, this is important as the place is littered with barrels used for trash cans and a free firewood pile. On the day of August 10th of 1997, a sighting of the Deerman was reported to the RCMP was rejected as they thought the caller was pulling a fast one on them. This of course was far from the truth. A visitor who was just passing by while she decided to spend the night as she was just passing through.

As the night grew darker and the moon slowly rose, she was alone with her 1986 Chrysler K-Car and a one person pop tent. Her name has been withheld out of fear that she would be ridiculed for what she saw, which is understandable in my opinion. Like those who’ve witnessed Bigfoot and other said creatures of the unknown.

She said that it was around 4’am when she heard the sound of footsteps walking towards her. They weren’t what you’d expect from a person, they were almost silent except for the sound of the leaves being crushed under its feet. She thought it could’ve been a dog but something didn’t feel right.

For a moment she thought it could be a deer or perhaps another animal and she wanted to take a photo of said animal. Once she unzipped the flap and reached for her camera, she was greeted by the mysterious Deerman. It stood perfectly still like a statue and looked her over with what she described as her dead like eyes. Almost what you’d find on a doll or perhaps a taxidermy Deer.

Before she could snap a photo it ran into the darkness of the night. Leaving another soul to witness its freakish existence. Since then, groups of people have been trying to spot a glimpse of the Deerman to prevail. Though some have said they’ve spotted it while driving down “N Ave Railway”. Though these claims have been made without any photographic evidence. We need to keep an open mind and make sure that all sightings are investigated and proven as fact or disprove as either a mistake or someone just looking for fame.

The mystery of the Deerman is one that needs to be solved. With the increasing evidence of said Cryptozoic beings like that of Big Foot springing up everywhere. Other creatures that lurk in the unknown soon too will be brought to the light of the masses. This is a job that I’m willing to give my life for. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more articles diving into the Deerman of Central Alberta.

Introduction to the Deerman of Rosalind, Alberta.

I’m starting this forum of sorts in the hope of educating those who haven’t heard of the Deerman.

First of all, let me just say that I am no way a crackpot. The legend of the Deerman started in the playgrounds

of small Albertan rural communities and with many who claim to have seen this abnormal being.

Now, you probably wonder why I’m doing this? And believe me, I ask myself that too. But it’s for fun, I’m

researching this topic in the hopes of bringing it to the forefront of educating those who are interested in the

field of Cryptozoology or those who just love to read up on urban legends and the unknown.

The origins of the Deerman dates back to before the incorporation of Rosalind into a village back in 1966.

Many eyewitnesses reported spotting said creature during the summer and harvest season. Usually on the

outskirts of the fields, watching the farmers plant and harvest. Many seem to think that the Deerman is the

offspring of beast and the Devil. In a vain attempt of spreading its evil to others. While some say it’s a genetic

experiment that broke free.

Though many claim to have seen it, there are still few who think it’s a hoax, created by the hands of bored farm

kids. This may be the case, but I am here to document everything that I find. In a hope to better understand this

creature and put this story to rest.

The first sighting was by the son of a farmer who’s family traveled there for a better life. Once established there,

they turned to farm the land in the hopes of raising a crop. Soon, that reported hearing strange sounds coming

from the fields at dusk and when they would wake up. They passed these sounds off to nothing more than Coyotes

possibly. Soon, livestock joined the farm and over a matter of a few weeks the Cows were dying off one by one.

Reports were springing up over the county that sightings of a strange being running across country roads startling

those who’ve witnessed such a sight. It was the Deerman, ever since the founding of the town these sightings have

lived on over the generations. Has this being called that chunk of the land home before the founding or was it

brought perhaps from a family that was cursed? Or maybe it’s a warning of things to come. Maybe a doorway has

been opened that needs to be shut?
